Sterling re-elected to Jaffrey BOS in uncontested race

Jaffrey reelects Sterling

Without a single contested race on the town ballot, there was little fanfare in Jaffrey on Tuesday.

Incumbent Selectman Frank Sterling greeted voters outside the Jaffrey VFW for much of the day Tuesday.

Despite not having any competition, Sterling felt it was important to offer residents a chance to voice concerns, and ask questions. 

“Nobody else had shown any interest and I enjoy doing the job,” Sterling said. 

The lone zoning article up for a vote passed by a vote of 518 to 131. The article clarifies that two-family units and duplex units are allowed in the Rural, Residential B, and General Business Districts.

Eric Fleck and Ann Marie Furnival were elected to serve three-year terms on the library trustees, while Emily Carr was elected to a two-year term. 

Victoria Arceci will serve a six-year term as a supervisor of the checklist.
