Friends of the Jaffrey Library accepting book donations

Published: 08-08-2024 3:00 PM

The Friends of the Jaffrey Library will accept up to 15 books each from individuals on Saturday, Aug. 10, from 10 a.m. to noon in the library’s Bean Room on the main floor.

The Friends’ ongoing sales in two locations – on the main level across from the Bean Room and lower level near the elevator.

Friends volunteers review all books before accepting donations. Books must be reasonably current and in good condition. Recent best-sellers are very popular, but fiction, classics, humor and nonfiction/memoirs also sell well. The Friends can’t accept library discards, magazines, encyclopedias, textbooks, travel guides, medical, financial advice and computer books.

These second Saturdays in the month are the only times the Friends accept book donations. People should not take any boxes or bags of books to the library staff or leave them in the outside book drop. Funds raised by book sales help support library services and programs for all ages.

The Friends have a table at Team Jaffrey’s weekly farmers’ market held on the library lawn on Fridays from 3 to 5 p.m.
