The Jaffrey tax rate this year is set at $27.89 per $1,000 of valuation, a 36-cent increase from last year’s rate.

A resident with a home valued at $200,000 can expect to pay a tax bill this year of $5,578, compared to the $5,506 for a home of the same value last year.

The municipal rate was the main driver in the increase, increasing to $10.15, compared to last year’s rate of $9.54.

The local education rate, which remains the largest single portion of the tax rate, dropped by seven cents, to $12.18. The state education rate is also down, dropping from $2.05 to $1.87.

The county portion of the rate remained steady at $3.69.
