In response to “Undeclared” in the Dec. 30 issue, it is a shame that New Hampshire legislators like Rep. David Love spend their time drafting legislation, such as HB 1166, aimed at restricting voter options rather than working toward sponsoring bills that will strengthen the voice of the New Hampshire voter. If legislators like Love truly cared to protect the democratic process, they would work toward the adoption of ranked-choice voting in New Hampshire. Ranked-choice voting gives voters a wider range of candidates and parties to choose from, can alleviate the effects of gerrymandering and may help to restore balance in our election system. Ranked-choice voting takes the power away from partisan party leaders and puts it back into the hands of the populace, where it belongs.
