Julie Thibault of Jellison Funeral Home in Peterborough was installed as president of the New Hampshire Funeral Directors Association Jan. 13.

Founded in 1900, the New Hampshire Funeral Directors Association was created to provide a professional organization that could serve both consumers and funeral directors. Currently, more than 95% of all funeral directors in New Hampshire belong to the NHFDA.

The goal of the NHFDA is to provide both consumers and industry professionals with honest, extensive and valuable information. Every member of the NHFDA must follow a strict code of ethics that is based on integrity, compassion and professionalism.

Thibault began working in funeral service in 2001 as a funeral assistant at Jellison Funeral Home. In 2012, she purchased the business and pursued her degree in mortuary science and became a licensed funeral director and embalmer in 2014. Thibault has served on the executive board of the NHFDA since 2016 and will serve a two-year term as president.
