On Thursday, Jan. 19, the Kiwanis Club of Peterborough will host a membership open house at RiverMead’s main auditorium from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

The open house will serve as an opportunity for the public to learn more about what Kiwanis does in the community, talk with current club members and learn about becoming a member. The event kicks off with a social time for guests to have refreshments, and at 5:45 p.m., Louise Danforth of the Monadnock Early Learning Center will be a featured guest speaker.

“The Kiwanis Club of Peterborough is a small and mighty club made up of community members who are passionate about making a difference. Helping kids grow and succeed is at the heart of everything we do. Our open house on Jan, 19 will be a fun way for anyone interested to learn more about Kiwanis and how to get involved,” stated Christine Pillsbury, president of the Kiwanis Club of Peterborough.

The Kiwanis Club of Peterborough has been serving children and families of the local community for over 30 years. This past year, Peterborough Kiwanis served as the official sponsor for the Children and the Arts festival and donated more than $13,000 to local charities and programs. Throughout the years they have provided donations to The Windy Row Learning Center, ConVal End 68 Hours of Hunger, Peterborough Sunshine Fund, Peterborough Food Pantry, The River Center, Shelter from the Storm, The Cornucopia Project, Peterborough Recreation Department and Kiwanis scholarships.

Starting in February, the club will be meeting every Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. at RiverMead, 150 Rivermead Road. For information on the membership open house and to make a reservation,  reach out to Pillsbury at 603-562-5683 or by email at christine.pillsbury222@gmail.com.
