The Piscataquog Land Conservancy’s annual fundraising Rose Mountain Rumble bike ride was its most successful yet, said PLC Executive Director Chris Wells, netting about $15,000, a new high in the ride’s nine-year history.

There were about 150 registered riders for the Rumble on Saturday. Riders left from Center Hall in Lyndeborough and could take one of several routes of varying lengths, which included views of conserved properties managed by the PLC.

The event has been running since 2015, with a year missed in 2020 due to COVID-19, making this the eighth annual ride, Wells said, and its success was due in part to a number of new sponsors. The funds raised Saturday will be put toward the general support of the PLC’s conservation work. The PLC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving the land, water and wildlife of 23 communities in southern New Hampshire, including Lyndeborough.

Sponsors included Hitchiner Manufacturing in Milford, which sponsored the traditional lunch after the ride; Sheehan Phinney law firm, which sponsored the T-shirts; Sunrise Labs of Bedford, which provided refreshments for the food and water stations; and Airmar Technologies of Milford, which acted as a general sponsor for the event. Sponsors not only helped to fund the event, but provided teams of participant riders.

The Wilton-Lyndeborough Women’s Club provided the lunch, and teams of about 15 volunteers participated to help register riders and man rest stations.
