Peterborough Lions Club donates $2,000 to Teens in Action

The Peterborough Lions Club has donated $2,000 to the Teens in Action program through the Peterborough Recreation Department.

Other recent community donations include Cold Springs Healing Paws to support their training programs, Peterborough Food Pantry, ConVal End 68 Hours of Hunger, Monadnock Hunger Walk, Linus Project, a Keene State College scholarship, David’s House, Sunshine Fund, Monadnock Worksource and Monadnock Area Transitional Shelter

The club’s Duck Race Day will be Saturday, June 28, at 2 p.m. The race will begin with the ducks entering the Nubanusit River at Putnam Park and end in Depot Square Park. Cash and gift card prizes will be awarded for the winning ducks. The top prize is $1,000. 

Ticket sales will be held on Saturdays at various locations and will continue to be sold on Saturdays (Sunday is the rain date if the venue allows), including race day. Tickets are $5, or five tickets for $20.

The Peterborough Lions Club is offering free vision screenings to Peterborough school children through KidSight Peterborough. The screening program is capable of detecting amblyopia (lazy eye), nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, strabismus (misaligned eye) and anisometropia (unequal refractive power).
