Veverka, Movsessian, Banish look sharp

Conant, ConVal and Mascenic competed at Coe-Brown’s Black Bear Invitational this weekend.

Conant’s Tyler Sands was third in the 100M in 11.98, behind Bedford’s Zack Verow (11.60) and Winnacunnet’s Matthew Gigliotti (11.86).

Mascenic’s Jake Movsessian finished fourth in the 3200M in 10:00.26, behind Pelham’s Cameron Starr (9:39.70), Campbell’s Jeff Allen (9:55.10) and Timberlane’s Jacob Huberdeau (9:55.25). It was a PR for Movsessian, and his first time under 10:02 since the 2015 Meet of Champions.

The Mascenic boys were also third in the 4x800M relay.

ConVal’s Ryan Murray and Liam Baldwin both cracked the top ten in the discus throw, with Murray finishing seventh (111’3”) and Baldwin tenth (105’10”).

Mascenic’s Bryce Vaillancourt was ninth in the javelin throw at 135’4”. Just behind him in tenth was ConVal’s Sean Boggis (132’9”).

The top four in the girls’ 100M dash were separated by just 0.6 seconds, which left Conant’s Abby Drew in fourth (13.89); Johanna Koroma of Merrimack won in 13.36.

Drew was also fourth in the long jump at 14’11.75”.

ConVal’s Clare Veverka PR’d in the 3200M, finishing fourth in 11:19.24, more than three seconds better than last year’s Meet of Champions time. She was behind winner Julia Robitaille, last year’s DII runner-up and the top returner; the Manchester West runner took first in 11:00.37 and looks to be the one to beat in the 3200M this year.

Conant’s Taylor Banish also set a PR in the pole vault, finishing third at 8’6”.  She’s gunning for Jammie Mascitti’s school record of 9’3”. Paige Shaughnessy of Nashua South cleared 9’0” for the win.

Banish was also 8th in the javelin throw, at 89’8”.

ConVal’s Rhiannon Bell was fifth in the shot put, at 32’8”. Mascenic’s Meagan Brand was eighth at 31’.

ConVal’s Savanna Hall was seventh in the discus throw, at 95’7”.
