Hancock King celebration is Jan. 16

The Hancock Conversations on Race Group will hold its fifth annual celebration honoring the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Monday, Jan. 16, at noon in the vestry of Hancock Congregational Church, 47 Main St.

The theme of the event is King’s ideal of the “Beloved Community," and will include a potluck luncheon enhanced by conversation, reflections, music, and art. Youth from Avenue A will be participating, along with newly elected state Reps. Jonah Wheeler, Molly Howard and Eric Aldrich. All will talk about past and present times and the role and impact of people of color in forming community.
