On Thursday, Dec. 7, at 6:30 p.m., the Mariposa Museum in Peterborough will present a performance by the vocal group Windborne at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 25 Main St. in Peterborough.

The concert follows a wassail reception at the Mariposa Museum, across the street from the church at 26 Main St., from 5 to 6:15 p.m., included in the ticket price of $20 online before the day of the show and $25 day of the show. The reception offers visitors a chance to view the exhibit, "Stitching Time: The Social Justice Collaborative Quilts Project," consisting of 20 quilts made by men serving life sentences at Louisiana State Penitentiary, otherwise known as "Angola" prison.

With a 20-year background studying polyphonic music around the world, Windborne members Lauren Breunig, Jeremy Carter-Gordon, Lynn Rowan and Will Rowan shift between different styles of music. They are adherents to folk music’s longtime alliance with social activism, labor and civil rights, and other movements that champion the oppressed, the poor, and the disenfranchised.

Tickets are available online at mariposamuseum.org
