A few times this campaign season, I’ve had the privilege to act as a driver and scribe for Deni Dickler, running for the Cheshire 14 seat in the New Hampshire House. Deni herself goes out for a couple of hours every day and twice on Saturdays.

Having campaigned for state representative myself, I understand how discouraging it can be to knock on doors with no answers. I also recognize that, from the voter’s perspective, you’re interrupting a football game or a family meal. Deni doesn’t get discouraged. We just move on to the next address on the list.

When things go well and people are willing to share a few minutes of their time, Deni focuses on asking them what they think would make New Hampshire a better place to live. Property taxes, education, education funding and services for veterans, seniors and people with disabilities seem to come up often. People also mention the end to divisiveness. She makes sure to let people know she appreciates their time and thoughts.

I’ve lived in Rindge for 25 years now, but campaigning with Deni has taken me to whole new neighborhoods because she’s talking to everyone regardless of party.

I think getting to know her future constituents, meeting them on their own turf and asking for their opinions on what needs fixing is exactly what will make Deni Dickler an outstanding state representative. Please vote for Deni Dickler, state representative for Cheshire 14, on Nov. 5
