The Mason tax rate is set at $25.18 for 2018, a three-cent increase over last year.

The municipal portion of the tax rate is up by 41 cents this year, increasing from $7.80 to $8.21.

This increase is offset by a decrease in the local school tax rate, which supports the Mason School District. The school tax rate is down by 2.6 percent, from $13.77 to $13.41.

There was also a slight decrease in the state education tax, from $2.30 to $2.26, a 1.7 percent decrease.

The county tax rate is up by two cents, from $1.28 to $1.30.

Under the new tax rate, a home valued at $200,000 will pay a tax of $5,036, or $6 more than the previous year.
