A Wilton woman was found safe and reunited with her family after being missing for more than 24 hours.

Police put out a bulletin for Sarafin Anderson, 72, of Wilton, after she was discovered missing from her home on Abbot Hill Road Saturday at about 6 p.m. after last being seen walking towards Mason without her phone.

Police were concerned, as Anderson has mental health issues. Police and fire crews searched for Anderson and were in the process of coordinating with New Hampshire Fish and Game to search the wooded area around her home when she found her way back to her home on her own.

On Monday, shortly before 2 p.m., police reported that Anderson had returned home and was safe.

Anderson was transported to Elliott Hospital for evaluation, but was well other than being cold and tired from spending two nights in the wood, Olesen said.
