Monadnock Community Hospital hosting seminar on menopause

Monadnock Community Hospital will host a free seminar, “Navigating Menopause,” on Thursday, May 15, at 5:30 p.m. at the Bond Wellness Center, 452 Old Street Road, Peterborough.

Dr. Elizabeth M. Johnsen, a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist at Monadnock OBGYN, will lead the session.

Open to those experiencing menopause, preparing for it or supporting someone through the transition, the seminar is also for health care professionals seeking to learn more about menopause management.

Johnsen will discuss the biological process of menopause, common symptoms and holistic and medical treatment options including natural remedies and prescription therapies. The session will also cover nutrition, exercise, mental health and self-care strategies for improving quality of life.

A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation. The event is part of MCH’s Health & Wellness Seminars series.
