The victim of a fatal crash in Rindge on Friday has been identified as 33-year-old Kiersten M. Bankowski of Ashby, Mass.

According to a statement from Police Chief Rachel Malynowski, at approximately 7:31 p.m., the Rindge police and fire departments were dispatched to the intersection of Route 119 and Payson Hill Road for a report of an accident involving multiple vehicles. Elie Embal Angol Ayaya, 25, of Manchester, was driving a 2020 Subaru Legacy south on Cathedral Road in Rindge and reportedly failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Cathedral Road and Route 119, hitting a GMC Sierra heading westbound and driven by Sean M. O’Loughlin, 43, of Ashby. Bankowski was a passenger in O’Loughlin’s vehicle.

Bankowski was pronounced dead at the scene, and O’Loughlin was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester by the Peterborough Ambulance in critical condition. As of Tuesday, Rindge Police reported O’Loughlin’s injuries as serious but non-life-threatening.

Bankowski was a small-business owner and mother of four, running an Etsy shop and Facebook page where she sold crystals, diffusers, T-shirts, bags, cups and other items, under the name ADCS Reserve, named after the initials of her children, ranging in age from 14 to 5. A memorial fund has been set up on the crowdfunding site GoFundMe, which has raised just under $20,000 as of Tuesday afternoon.

“Kiersten loved passionately and unapologetically. She possessed values, integrity, character, a moral compass, she had your back, and she could effortlessly and continuously make you laugh – no matter what your mood,” the GoFundMe, organized by Brieyana Santana of Westford, Mass., reads.

The GoFundMe will be used to alleviate any financial stresses put upon Bankowski’s family, including funeral expenses and any other family expenses.
