
Music on Norway Pond presents Henrique Eisenmann and Eugene Friesen in concert at the Hancock Meetinghouse on Sunday, Feb. 9, at 4 p.m.
The duo will blend chamber music with jazz and world music, featuring original compositions, Brazilian bossa nova, West African rhythmsย and reimagined classics.
Friesen, a four-time Grammy Award winner, is known for expanding the celloโs role into jazz and global genres. He has toured on six continents, performed with the Paul Winter Consortย and teaches at Berklee College of Music.
Born in Sรฃo Paulo, Brazil, Eisenmann combines classical virtuosity with jazz improvisation. His 2022 album, โNaรงรฃo,โ received international acclaim. He has performed at major jazz festivals and collaborated with musicians such as Gunther Schuller, Luciana Souzaย and George Garzone. He teaches at The Juilliard School and New England Conservatory.
