Music on Norway Pond will hold “For Pete’s Sake,” an outdoor songfest led by the young singers of Jr. Mints honoring Pete Seeger on the Hancock Common Sunday, June 11, at 4:00 p.m.

Seeger is known as a champion of American folk music, community and social justice. Bruce Springsteen once introduced Seeger as “a living archive of America’s music and conscience, a testament to the power of song and culture to nudge history along.”

Under the tutelage of Ethan McBrien – a singer, songwriter, guitarist and member of the band “Party of the Sun” – the young singers of Jr. Mints will perform and lead the songfest of Seeger’s hits, which include “If I Had a Hammer” and “Michael Row the Boat Ashore. “ Artistic Director Jody Hill Simpson has been rehearsing the singers along with McBrien.

Everyone is encouraged to join the singing. The event is free, with donations accepted. For information, visit musiconnorwaypond.org.
