Music on Norway Pond in Hancock is gearing up for an eclectic season of concerts.

In addition to preparing adult and children’s choruses for the annual holiday celebrations, professional guest artists are lined up, starting with a house concert by pianist Jacqueline Schwab on Oct. 13. Schwab, known for her work on Ken Burns’ soundtracks – including his Grammy-winning “The Civil War,” “Baseball,” “Lewis and Clark,” “Mark Twain,” “The War” and “The National Parks” – will perform “Tunes for Troubled Times.”

On Nov. 24, Broadway star Rachel Gold will premiere her new show, “Not Your Typical Ingenue,” alongside collaborators Bebe Browning, Kanisha Marie Feliciano and music director Laura Bergquist.

Rehearsals are underway for the 40-member Norway Pond Festival Singers and the 25-member Jr. Mints children’s chorus, both preparing for a holiday concert on Dec. 21 featuring selections from “A Ceremony of Carols” by Benjamin Britten. They will sing with special guest artists Micah Nicol of the Ruta Beggars bluegrass band and  violist/violinist/vocalist Jacqui Armbruster.

The season continues with world music ensemble Culomba on Jan. 19, Brazilian jazz pianist Henrique Eisenmann and four-time Grammy-winning cellist Eugene Friesen on Feb. 9, and progressive-acoustic band High Horse on March 2. Pianist Evren Ozel will close the season on April 13. Ozel is the recipient of a 2023 Avery Fisher Career Grant and a 2022 Salon de Virtuosi Career Grant, and is currently represented by Concert Artists Guild as an Ambassador Prize Winner of their 2021 Victor Elmaleh Competition.
