Scottish Music Club presents concert at Bass Hall in Peterborough

The New Hampshire Scottish Music Club orchestra returns to the Monadnock Center for History and Culture’s Bass Hall at 19 Grove St. in Peterborough Saturday, April 6, at 3 p.m.

This Tartan Day celebration features jigs and reels, strathspeys and airs,interspersed with narrative. The 21-piece orchestra includes musicians playing fiddle, mandolin, guitar, accordion, piano, flute, clarinet, whistle, bass and percussion.

The New Hampshire Scottish Music Club was founded in 1988 as The Strathspey & Reel Society of New Hampshire. The club’s goal is to foster an appreciation for the culture and history of Scotland through the performance of Scottish music. The Scottish Music Club performs around the state and hosts a free monthly gathering at the Concord Community Music School that welcomes all ages, instruments and levels of experience.

Tickets are $25, $20 for Monadnock Center members. Purchase tickets online at monadnockcenter.org or call the center at 603-924-3235. Tickets will be available at the door. The Monadnock Center accepts cash and credit/debit cards.
