The Board of Directors of the Jaffrey Civic Center announced last week that Maryann LaCroix Lindberg is stepping in as interim executive director, while the nonprofit begins its search for a permanent replacement for former director Regina Vorce, who passed away in June.

Lindberg is a consultant with Philanthropy Resource Group, which provides assistance to nonprofits with a number of issues.

In an interview Monday, Lindberg said she had already been working with the Civic Center to help build an endowment for the Center when she was offered the opportunity to fill the interim executive director role.

“It’s a terrific organization and an important part of the community,” Lindberg said. “I’m happy to assist them as they transition to new leadership.”

Lindberg has more than 40 years of experience working with nonprofits, as well as a background as a professional musician. Before becoming a consultant with Philanthropy Resource Group, Lindberg worked as the Vice President of Advancement for Keene State College, but also has extensive experience in the nonprofit sector.

Though the Civic Center has reduced its hours and is not able to hold opening receptions for its shows, it is still holding classes and showcasing local artists and collections, Lindberg said.

Opening Oct. 16 at the Civic Center was a new show featuring members of the Women’s Caucus fro Art, as well as an exhibit of watercolor and pen and ink art by artist Diane Orzel.

Hours at the Civic Center have been limited due to COVID-19, with the center currently only open on Wednesday and Friday from noon to 5 p.m., Thursday noon to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Lindberg said the Civic Center Board of Directors is beginning the process of looking for a permanent hire for the position, and hope to have a candidate in place by this February.
