New IpswichTimbertop Road closing for project

The New Ipswich Public Works Department will be closing Timbertop Road from Route 124 to the Hubbard Pond/Timbertop Road intersection Tuesday, July 17, starting at 6:30 a.m. for the duration of the daylight hours, to replace a 5' diameter drainage pipe and a 4' diameter drainage pipe that spans the entire width of the roadway.

In normal situations the DPW crew makes every effort to maintain one lane of travel to allow for passing motorists, however, due to the size and complexity of the project, that is not an option, the town said in a press release.

All residents in the Timbertop/Hubbard Pond Road area will need to exit the area, after 6:30 a.m., by traveling out to either Timbertop or Hubbard Pond Rd. and into the Town of Rindge until the effected area of the road is re-opened allowing normal traffic patterns.

New Ipswich Emergency Services have made arrangements with neighboring towns, through mutual aid, to assist in the event of any emergency; medical, fire or police related.
