Dawn Seppala’s inspiration to open a children’s clothing and gift shop in Rindge began with her own children.

A mother of three, Seppala decided to fill the gap by opening Twinkle Children’s Shop after noticing that many of the smaller shops in the area began to close down.

“I definitely wanted to bring this type of shop back to the Monadnock Region, said Seppala, who opened for business in the Triumph Interiors Inc. building on Route 119 in November.

Seppala said she currently carries about 35 different brands, many of which you won’t encounter in the big box stores like Walmart and Target. Seppala carries a number of baby gifts and quality children’s clothing up to size 6.

“That’s what the demand is right now,” said Seppala, who said she consults with friends and employees who are moms to get inspiration and ideas on what to carry in store.

Twinkle recently hosted pop-up events with Trio Coffee, Covington and Co., and Billies and Tilli.

Twinkle also hosts Foodie Fridays – where snacks and food for customers are used to help create a positive and welcoming environment – with Triumph Interiors once a month. Seppala’s husband Rodney is the president of Triumph Interiors.

“Because parenting can be very draining and tiring, Twinkle’s mission is that every customer will leave encouraged, hopeful, and with a smile on their face,” Twinkle press release said.
