Dr. Don Caruso to share stories in Jaffrey

On Friday, May 3, the Jaffrey Civic Center, 40 Main St. in Jaffrey, will present the eighth and final speaker in this season’s “Stories to Share” series.

Dr. Don Caruso, who served for eight years as president and CEO of Cheshire Medical Center from 2015 to 2023 will present “Healthcare Today: An Insider’s Perspective.” The program will begin at 5 p.m. and will be followed by a reception.

Caruso is a family physician who has provided primary care for the Keene community for more than 30 years. He was the family medicine chair at Dartmouth Hitchcock Keene from 1994 to 2005. In 2003, he was named Microsoft Physician of the Year for his role in developing the Allscripts Electronic Medical Record technology. Caruso is a frequent visitor to Haiti and leader of a medical team that provides care to some of the most-disadvantaged and medically underserved people in the Western Hemisphere.

During the past 20 years, Caruso has held numerous leadership posts at Dartmouth Hitchcock Keene, including medical director of medical home clinical performance and co-medical director of the Dartmouth Hitchcock Regional Primary Care Center. Caruso completed his MPH from the Dartmouth Institute in 2011 and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Academy of Physician Executives.

Stories to Share founder Joseph Steinfield will serve as moderator for the talk. The program is free of charge, but donations are accepted to help support this event and others like it. The program will be available as an in-person event at the Jaffrey Civic Center as well as via YouTube live.
