Jaffrey Civic Center, 40 Main St., will host “Paint Your First Oil Painting” with Kris Stewart Oct. 3, 10, 17 and 24 from 1 to 4 p.m.

The ability to "paint what you see" rather than "paint what you think you see" will be the focus of this class, which will introduce a method enabling participants to produce a first oil painting to get them started honing their skills. In addition to providing time to work on projects, each class will include a demo, tips and tricks and a question-and-answer session.

The instructor will supply some items. A materials list will be provided indicating the items that participants will need to bring. Tuition is $125 per student for the 4-week class. To reserve a spot, go to jaffreyciviccenter.com/classes.
