Maribeth Cote, a 2011 graduate of Franklin Pierce University, will return to her alma mater to discuss the Folger Library and the First Folio! tour today at 4:30 p.m.
Cote is the public engagement coordinator for the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, D.C., managing all of the educational and public programs that accompany the traveling exhibition of Shakespeare’s First Folio, which will visit all 50 states, Washington D.C., and Puerto Rico in 2016.
“First Folio! The Book that Gave Us Shakespeare” contains 18 of Shakespeare’s plays, including “Macbeth,” “Twelfth Night” “and Julius Caesar” — works that had not been seen in print until seven years after the playwright’s April 1616 death.
The First Folio! tour is on display at the Currier Museum of Art, Manchester, until May 1.
The presentation will be held in Spagnuolo Hall. Her visit to her alma mater is part of Franklin Pierce’s Alumni Speakers Series.
