The medical marijuana growing facility in Peterborough is 90 percent complete, according to John Glowik, CEO of Prime Alternative Treatment Centers of New Hampshire.
Completion of that last 10 percent at the Vose Farm Road site has been delayed, Glowick said Friday.
“Some equipment was damaged in shipping,” he said. “So we are waiting for it to be re-shipped.”
“It was out of our control,” he added.
Glowik said the equipment should arrive in the next two weeks. Once the equipment is installed, then the facility can order soil for growing, he said. The company has faced numerous delays in opening. The facility is 36,000 square feet and is located in the Brookstone Business Center, across the street from ConVal High School. The marijuana grown there will be transported to a dispensary in Merrimack to be distributed Area 2, which encompasses Hillsborough and Merrimack counties.
Glowik said the company used New Hampshire-based contractors in the building of the facility.
Prime Alternative Treatment Centers of N.H. is one of three companies that will operate nonprofit medical marijuana treatment centers in the state. The facility will employ 24 full-time employees, who will be paid yearly salaries of $40,000 to $70,000, according to the company. The company has signed a five-year lease.
