Optimist Cafe schedules music and spoken word

Optimist Cafe, 16 Colls Farm Road, Jaffrey, will host music and spoken word Tuesday, June 25, from 6 to 9 p.m.

Walden Whitham, a singer, musician, actor and storyteller, will share his mode of storytelling with folk harp. Whitham shares traditional and original tales with roots in theater, education and the natural world. He is preparing some tales about the power of the summer solstice.

Kim Wallach, a singer, songwriter, children’s musician and educator will perform original and traditional songs with humor while playing piano, guitar and banjo. She has performed both solo and with the Short Sisters across the United States and abroad since 1978.

Tom Smith is an award-winning performer and songwriter, applying his old-school folk tradition to stories of people’s wants, needs, struggles and triumphs.
