The Page 1 news of the Sept. 1, 1910 Peterboro Transcript included news of Hancock’s Old Home Week Festival, in which “our friends returned, it seemed to the writer, in increased numbers, to look again into the faces, and to again feel the warm hand-clasp of many known since youth, and to receive a freshening of the spirit and an inspiration for the coming days.”

But there was also some pretty interesting news on Page 2: "Dublin, the great summer resort, was honored last Saturday and Sunday, by a visit from William H. Taft, President of the United States, when he was the guest of Franklin MacVeigh, secretary of the treasury at Washington."
