Peterborough Town Library to host second ‘Naturally NH’ talk

Peterborough Town Library, 2 Concord St., will host the second in its winter lecture series titled “Naturally NH, Conversations about Wildlife and Landscape” Thursday, Feb. 22, at 6:30 p.m.

Each lecture features an expert working in the New Hampshire environmental fields. The next speaker will be Matt Scaccia, recreation and community relations manager at the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests. Scaccia will speak on the history of Mount Monadnock and how it was put into conservation parcel by parcel, focusing on the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests’ role in permanently protecting over 4,500 acres on the mountain.

The program is free and open to the public.

The final lecture in this series will be Thursday, March 21, at 6:30 p.m. Dan Bailey, biologist and bear project leader with New Hampshire Fish & Game, will discuss what the department does regarding bear management as well as human-bear conflict management.
