A Peterborough man was arrested on Sunday after allegedly assaulting a family member and a police officer.

Peterborough Police responded to Heritage Apartments on Summer Street on Sunday afternoon around 3 p.m. for a report of a domestic dispute between a father and his 21-year-old son, where the son had allegedly assaulted his 47-year-old father, according to Peterborough Police Chief Scott Guinard.

“When officers went to make contact with the son, the 21-year-old charged at one of the officers and shoved him,” said Guinard.

Police arrested Chayse Moynihan, 21, of Peterborough, on charges of domestic violence; assault, assault on a police officer and resisting arrest.

The officer Moynihan allegedly shoved is Juan Lluberes, said Guinard. Neither Lluberes nor Moynihan’s father were injured.

Moynihan allegedly refused to cooperate with the booking process, said Guinard, and was transported to the Valley Street Jail in Manchester. He was scheduled to be arraigned in the 9th Circuit Court, Jaffrey on Monday.
