Friends, family, customers and visitors attended the 20th anniversary celebration at Anytime Apparel Boutique in Depot Square Saturday.

Anytime Apparel has been in Depot Square since 2003, and owner Melissa Carson was delighted with the turnout and support from old friends and new.

“I can’t believe we’ve been here 20 years,” she said. “It’s been so great to be a part of Depot Square and part of this community. I just could not be more grateful for my customers, my fellow business owners, the whole community – everyone who supports small businesses and shopping local.”

The celebration was “Barbie”-themed in honor of Carson’s extensive collection, which she displays on rotation in the shop. Carson has Barbies from every era, from earliest vintage to the latest models.

Music was provided by local classic rock duo McGettigan & Gilbert, playing in front of the shop on the warm day. Carson’s friend Patricia Echavarria helped set up and run Saturday’s celebration.

“The shop was busy all day long, a really fantastic day,” Echavarria said. “Melissa just has an amazing eye for what looks good on people. You can come in here and you can always find something for whatever occasion you are shopping for. We’re just so lucky to have her and this shop.”

“I don’t know if the store will  make to a 30th anniversary,” Carson joked. “But it’s been wonderful and I will keep going as long as I can. I’m just so fortunate to be here doing what I love.”
