Cheney-Armstrong American Legion meets Boys State and Girls State nominees

On May 1 at the Cheney-Armstrong American Legion Post 5 meeting at Peterborough Community Center, the veterans and auxiliary members met the four candidates that they are sponsoring to go to Girls State and Boys State for a week at the end of June at St. Anselm College.

The participants are InayaVaidya, Avery Swasey, Daniel McCall and Elijah Johnson, representing ConVal and Dublin Christian Academy. Each has written a bill which they will present to be discussed and voted on. American Legion Auxiliary Girls State and American Legion Boys State are educational programs of government instruction and leadership development for high school juniors. At the meeting, there were four post members who had attended Boys State: John Franklin, James Naglie, Wayne Thomas and Carl Johnson.
