On or before May 17, the Piscataquog Land Conservancy, which includes land in Francestown, Greenfield and Lyndeborough, will submit its application for renewal of national land trust accreditation, a process conducted by the Land Trust Accreditation Commission (LTAC), an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance.
The land trust accreditation program recognizes land conservation organizations that meet national quality standards for protecting important natural places and working lands, and a public comment period on PLC’s application is open. The commission invites public input and accepts signed, written comments on pending applications. Comments must relate to how Piscataquog Land Conservancy complies with national quality standards that address the ethical and technical operation of a land trust. For the full list, of standards see landtrustaccreditation.org/help-and-resources/indicator-practices.
To learn more about the accreditation program and to submit a comment, visit landtrustaccreditation.org, or email comments to info@landtrustaccreditation.org. Comments may also be faxed or mailed to the Land Trust Accreditation Commission, Attn: Public Comments at 518-587-3183 or 36 Phila St., Suite 2, Saratoga Springs, N.Y. 12866. Comments on Piscataquog Land Conservancy’s application are preferred by June 30.
