The Dublin Planning board reorganized itself Thursday and approved two draft warrant articles that will go on to the Select Board.

Select Board member Chris Raymond made a motion that Archie McIntyre be made interim chair in the wake of Don Primrose’s resignation, which the board unanimously approved. Alternate member Brie Morrissey and former Board member Neil Sandford, who has also been board secretary and more recently has served as an alternate, were nominated to be made temporary full members for the purpose of creating a quorum.

Secretary Matthew Saveliev was also voted to the board as an alternate member.

Alternate Katy Wardlaw communicated to McIntyre that she would agree to become a full member, which the board also approved. Voting members are now McIntyre, Raymond, Wardlaw and Caleb Niemela.

The resignation letters of Kirsten Colantino, Francis McKenna and Karl Eckilson were read into the record.

“It’s important for the board to continue its work that the town expects of us,” said McIntyre.

A change in Article V of the town Zoning Ordinance to revise lot sizes and setback requirements in the village was approved by the board. A current lot may be no smaller than one acre, and the new proposal would reduce that to 35,000 square feet, which is just over 8,000 square feet smaller than an acre.

“This is an effort to make additional housing options available to residents,” said McIntyre.

A second draft warranty article proposes relabeling “Transient Housing” to be “Short Term Rentals” in the Zoning Ordinance and defining them as “as any rental until in any district with a rental term of 15 days or less.” The board voted to approve this change as well, and drafts will go to the Select Board for their consideration. Warrant articles will be voted on at Town Meeting in March.
