Family Day returns to the Rindge Common July 1, from 5 to 9 p.m., with lawn games, food, live music and fireworks at the end of the evening.

It’s the first time the event has returned to its usual location in several years, according to Rindge Recreation Department Director Dan Beemis, after being on pause due to COVID-19 and most recently being held at Franklin Pierce University for the town’s 250th anniversary celebration.

“We’re excited to bring it back to the common and a more hometown feel,” Beemis said.

The schedule includes live music throughout the day, and food for sale from the Recreation Department, the Rindge Fire Department and Sandwich Master in Rindge.

Lawn games, including cornhole and ladderball, will be available, with prizes for children and facepainting.

At nightfall, around 9 p.m., a fireworks display by Atlas Pyrotechnics will begin.

The event is free and open to all residents. Residents are requested to park at the Rindge Memorial School. Residents who need assistance may park at the Rindge Town Offices, where there will be a golf cart available to transport residents to the common.

Roads surrounding the common will be blocked during the event. This event is cosponsored by the Rindge Chamber of Commerce.
