Heather McKernan has been publisher of the Monadnock Ledger-Transcript since 1995. She has a degree in writing from St. Lawrence University and an MBA and Master's in journalism from Syracuse University. Responsible for all aspects of the Monadnock Ledger-Transcript's operations, she consults with the newsroom editors and oversees business operations including advertising, circulation and accounting. She has worked for newspapers in upstate New York and North Carolina and joined the Concord Monitor in 1989 as human resources manager and later became controller. She is active in several community organizations and is on the board for the Monadnock Center for History and Culture. She also has served on the boards of the The River Center, The Family Center, the Marlin Fitzwater Center for Communication at Franklin Pierce University, the Greater Peterborough Chamber of Commerce and the Community Prevention Coalition. Heather lives in Peterborough where she enjoys running and a variety of outdoor activities.

Ben Conant joined the Ledger-Transcript staff as an editor in 2013. A member of ConVal's class of 2000, Conant graduated from the journalism program at Keene State College in 2010. Prior to joining the Ledger-Transcript, Conant worked at the Concord Monitor for three years; he was the editor of the Monitor's free alt-weekly newspaper, the Concord Insider. He moved to Peterborough in 1993 and has lived in or around the Monadnock region ever since. He currently lives out Old Town Farm way.

Dave Anderson joined the Ledger-Transcript in 2004. He was awarded the 2012 Writer of the Year by the New Hampshire Press Association. He is a graduate of St. Lawrence University, and has lived in the Monadnock region since 1975. Prior to joining the Ledger-Transcript, he worked in editing or production jobs for several magazine publishers, including BYTE/McGraw Hill and Helmers Publishing in Peterborough and PennWell Publishing in Nashua. Dave and his wife, Kathy, live in Hancock. They have three grown children.

Nicholas Handy joined the Ledger-Transcript in February 2015 as a reporter. He graduated from Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island, in May 2014. He was previously lead reporter for the online news website He was born and raised in Keene and now resides in Peterborough.

Meghan Pierce is an award winning journalist and photographer who has been living in the Monadnock Region since 2001. She began as a beat reporter at the Monadnock Ledger in 2005, a year before the Ledger merged with the Peterborough Transcript to become the Ledger-Transcript. In 2008 she was awarded Writer of the Year by the New Hampshire Press Association. The following year, she was part of the news team that was awarded the “Dennis Joos Memorial Award” by the NHPA for exceptional news coverage during the 2008 New Hampshire ice storm. After six years at the Ledger-Transcript she became a freelance news correspondent and photographer for the New Hampshire Union Leader, covering both the Monadnock Region and New Hampshire’s Upper Valley region for the Union Leader, which is New Hampshire’s only statewide daily, from 2011 to 2018. As a freelance journalist she started the hyperlocal news website Monadnock Beat, which she ran from June 2017 through April 2018. In May 2018, she returned to the Monadnock Ledger-Transcript as its Digital Audience Editor.

Ashley Saari started with the Ledger-Transcript as a reporter in November 2011. A graduate of Mascenic Regional High School, she graduated from Franklin Pierce University with bachelor degrees in English and mass communication and Southern New Hampshire University with a Master's degree in creative writing. She participated in the print newspaper, The Pierce Arrow, and the online newspaper, The Exchange, while in college, as well as Franklin Pierce's two literary magazines. She was born and raised in New Ipswich, and currently lives in Rindge.

Nerissa Osborne is the advertising sales representative for the towns of Dublin, Harrisville, Marlborough, Keene, Swanzey, Troy and the western territory. She previously worked as sales manager for the Friendly Loom Division at Harrisville Designs and as office manager for Bauhan Publishing. The current treasurer of Marlboro Morris & Sword, Nerissa is also an active member of the Keene BNI-ABC Chapter and serves as a visitor host. When she's not in the office or performing with Marlboro Morris & Sword, Nerissa lives in the Monadnock region and enjoys the outdoors.
