A 20-year-old Franklin Pierce University student passed away on campus Wednesday morning.

Rindge police found the deceased male in a dorm room, Rindge Detective Rachel Malynowski said Wednesday evening.

The cause of death has yet to be determined, Malynowski said, but an autopsy has been scheduled for Thursday afternoon.

No foul play or apparent threat to public safety is suspected at this time, said a Rindge Police Department press release issued Wednesday.

Police responded to the FPU campus around 9:02 a.m. with Rindge Rescue and Jaffrey Ambulance for the report of an unresponsive male, the release said.

The name of the deceased student is being withheld by police until family has been notified.
