Ingalls Memorial Library hosts Hanna Pylväinen author talk and potluck

Ingalls Memorial Library welcomes author Hanna Pylväinen to the Rindge Meeting House on Monday, Oct. 7.
The program will begin at 6:30 p.m., but all are welcome to attend a potluck dinner prior to the program at 5:30 p.m.
Pylväinen is the author of the novels “We Sinners,” which received the Whiting Award and the Balcones Fiction Prize; and “The End of Drum-Time,” a finalist for the 2023 National Book Award in fiction. Her work has appeared in Harper’s, The New York Times, The New York Times Magazine, the Chicago Tribune and The Wall Street Journal. She was also the recipient of a residency at the MacDowell Colony in Peterborough and was the Finlandia Foundation 2024 Lecturer of the Year.
“The End of Drum Time” was published in January 2023. It takes place in 1851 in a remote Scandinavian village.and tells the story of a Lutheran minister who tries to convert the Sámi to his faith. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and autographing.
