Jaffrey/RindgeRindge man indicted of debit card theft charges

A Rindge resident has been accused of possessing multiple debit cards that do not belong to him and using them to make purchases in Jaffrey and Rindge in August.

Zachary Cormier, 28, was indicted on three counts of theft by unauthorized taking, two counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, and two counts of receiving stolen property this month at the Cheshire Cuperior Court.

Indictments say Cormier used debit cards that did not belong to him to purchase gasoline, two televisions, a laptop computer, and “various sundries including cigarettes and soda.

Purchases through these debit cards were in excess of $1,500. Cards that Cormier allegedly used belonged to two individuals.

Cormier has twice been convicted of theft-related charges – receiving stolen property in 2014 and burglary in 2016 – according to indictments.
