A Rindge woman has been indicted on a theft charge for allegedly pocketing money from sales while working at Pizza Pie in Rindge.

A Cheshire County grand jury indicted Ashley D. Seppala, 30, of Rindge on a charge of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.

Between June of 2017 and May 3, 2018, Seppala allegedly deleted sales through the “remove item” or “order reduced” functions while taking orders at the Pizza Pie, and pocketing the cash paid by customers for those sales, according to court documents.

The value of the money taken is alleged to have exceeded $1,500. Because of the amount alleged to have been taken, the crime is considered a class A felony.

An indictment is not an indication of innocence or guilt but a ruling by a grand jury that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to a trial.
