A Peterborough woman who injured two Greenfield residents in a head-on collision in Lyndeborough in Nov. has pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated.

Rebecca Rodenhiser, 39, will spend 14 days in jail with the rest of her one-year jail sentence suspended for a three years, according to prosecuting attorney Brad Bolton. She was sentenced on June 26 at the Hillsborough Superior Court in Manchester.

Rodenhiser’s plea agreement orders her to pay a $1,000 fine and up to $4,000 in restitution to her two victims – Joanne Vandeusen and Abou Sylla. She will also serve 100 hours of community service and be under probation for a year following her release.

“We had a conference and the victims were consulted,” said Bolton, in an interview Friday. “We wouldn’t have done [the plea agreement] without their approval.”

Rodenhiser was driving her 2014 Chevrolet Traverse northbound on Route 31 around 2 p.m. on Nov. 15 when her vehicle crossed over the center line and struck a 2005 Volvo S40 containing Vandeusen and Sylla.

All three involved in the crash were transported to three separate hospitals with serious injuries.

“[Vandeusen and Sylla] are still recovering, it’s been a long road for them,” said Bolton.

Bolton said the victims hope Rodenhiser uses the community service time to participate in speaking engagements about the dangers of drunk driving. There is no requirement to do so put forth by the court, Bolton said.
