Sometimes artists just need a change. And that was exactly the case for Rusted Root founder Michael Glabicki.

Things just weren’t going well for the band and no matter how much he wanted it to continue, it was best for everyone to take a break.

“Musically, there had been a lot of issues that we were trying to work through,” Glabicki said. “And I just didn’t have all my heart strings in it.”

So Glabicki took it as an opportunity to pursue other musical challenges. He started a band and began writing new songs, reinvigorating his love for the process –the reason why he dropped out of college and decided to become a full-time musician in the first place.

Since the beginning of the year, Glabicki has “attracted a lot of fantastic musicians that are so supportive of what I’m trying to do.”

His new band project, Uprooted, has been a great way to get back to the music and just create and play. He has been playing shows around the country as a solo artist, in duos and with the band.

“It’s always about finding the right people to click with,” Glabicki said.

Glabicki will be making his first-ever stop in Peterborough on Nov. 24 to play the concert hall at the Peterborough Town House. He will be joined by Rusted Root’s guitarist Dirk Miller for the show.

Fans of Rusted Root will want to check out this show because it will have a little bit of everything. There will be old school Rusted Root material on the set list, while many new songs will find their way into the concert.

What excites Glabicki the most is the on stage creation that has been happening lately.

“It’s really cool with the duo,” Glabicki said. “We can take the music wherever we want to go.”

And so far he has seen a great response from audiences around the country.

“We’re really just getting it off the ground, but people can feel that edge and that excitement,” he said. “The music is just incredible.”

Glabicki has best known for his acoustic guitar, but has added in some electric guitar and kick drum to the shows. And add in Miller’s guitar skills and it will be a unique show.

“It kind of sounds like a full band,” Glabicki said. “It gets pretty rocking and Dirk just plays the right thing at the right time.”

Tickets are $29 and available by visiting michaelglabicki.com/shows. This will be Glabicki’s first time playing in Peterborough, and is his only show in New Hampshire. The show begins at 8 p.m.

“Every place you go, there’s a new energy, so you soak up the vibe and invigorates the music,” Glabicki said.
