Saltare will give a performance for Music on Norway Pond Sunday, Nov. 5, at 4 p.m. at Hancock’s Meetinghouse, 47 Main St.

Music on Norway Pond founder and artistic director Jody Hill Simpson is a New England Conservatory graduate and former trustee and faculty member. She collaborates with NEC and organizes several concerts in Hancock featuring the brightest stars at the conservatory as part of their annual concert series. The quintet Saltare brings together musical and dance traditions from around the world and explores the ways that dance music is shaped and understood.  Originating at the conservatory contemporary musical arts department, their music traditions now include Irish, Transylvanian, American old-time, klezmer music, original compositions and arrangements of European classical music. Their instruments include piano, violin, bass, accordion, guitar, banjo and mandolin.

Tickets are $25, and students of all ages are free. For information and tickets, visit musiconnorwaypond.org or call 603-525-9303.
