Tuesday’s voting caused a shakeup among Wilton-Lyndeborough’s boards, with two School Board and one Budget Committee seat being overturned.

School Board Chair Harry Dailey, one of incumbent representing the town of Wilton, didn’t win one of the two Wilton seats on Tuesday to continue to serve on the board.

Mark Legere, Dailey’s fellow incumbent on the board, retained his seat with 235 votes. School Board newcomer and member of the school’s Parent-Teacher Organization Tiffany Cloutier-Cabral took the other, also with 235. Dailey had 216 votes.

Dailey has served on the board for the last 12 years.

“The sun came up this morning, either way,” Dailey said in an interview on Wednesday. “I have no hard feelings and wish them well.”

Dailey said the priorities for the board in the coming term should continue to be student achievement and the district’s declining enrollment.

Incumbent Charlie Post ran for re-election to his at-large seat, but challenger John Clark gained more votes in both Wilton and Lyndeborough.

In Lyndeborough, voters favored Clark with 96 votes to Post’s 79, and in Wilton, Clark also had the advantage, with a 205-116 vote.

The vote for the Lyndeborough at-large budget seat also saw an upset, with incumbent Pamela Altner losing her seat to Adam Lavallee of Lyndeborough.

In Lyndeborough, Lavallee and Altner were tied, with 82 votes each, but Wilton supporters put Lavallee over the edge, with 205 votes compared to Altner’s 132.

Walter Holland ran uncontested to retain his seat as district moderator.

All other Wilton-Lyndeborough school warrant articles were voted upon on Saturday, during the district’s Annual Meeting.
