In time for the opening of its memory care neighborhood, The Gardens, Scott-Farrar announces the appointment of a “dream team” of Alzheimer’s and nursing specialists to the community’s leadership team. Scott-Farrar at Peterborough is a full-service independent living, assisted living and memory care community for seniors.
The Gardens is Scott-Farrar’s secure memory care program comprised of 18 private apartments with private bathrooms in a new and specially designed neighborhood environment for those with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Designed for the person who is not safe living at home alone but does not need a nursing home, The Gardens is rich in meaningful programming and activities. A truly residential setting, this is a warm and inviting environment with a living room with a fireplace, kitchen, an innovative courtyard and expansive walking paths on the grounds. Residents are taking occupancy in their new apartments in January.

This translates to unmatched quality of care for our residents and their families.” Born and raised in Peterborough herself, Shook is no newcomer to the memory care world either having spent several years in assisted living, most recently running a very successful community on Cape Cod.
Debra Boyden has been named Memory Care Director at Scott-Farrar. In her new position, she is responsible for programming and daily resident experiences in The Gardens as well as the oversight of Memory Connections, Scott-Farrar’s signature staff dementia training program. Debra comes to Scott- Farrar from Whitney Place Assisted Living in Natick, Massachusetts, and brings over a decade overseeing assisted living memory care programs and is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and a former board member of the Alliance of Alzheimer’s Care Directors. A graduate of Worcester State University, Boydon is passionate about providing therapeutic services to enhance each resident’s physical, psychosocial and emotional life.
Michelle Humphrey, RN is Scott-Farrar’s Resident Care Director overseeing all areas of nursing services to the community and brings experience in providing personalized care to residents, particularly those with memory loss. Prior to joining Scott-Farrar, Humphrey has held nursing leadership roles at Genesis Healthcare, Sunbridge Healthcare, and Harborside Healthcare. She has a deep understanding of increasing resident satisfaction while achieving maximum care. Humphrey attended UMass Amherst and is certified as a Registered Nurse in New Hampshire.
Suzanne Singer joins Scott-Farrar as Marketing Director and is responsible for all areas of community relations and marketing of the community. The first point of contact for those interested in the community, Singer brings a unique understanding of the challenges families are experiencing with aging loved ones, particularly those with memory loss. She is experienced in running Alzheimer’s programs and social work having worked at Good Shepherd Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and Benchmark Assisted Living. Prior to joining Scott-Farrar, Singer was in a leadership role with the American Red Cross where she recently earned the Red Cross President’s Award. A native of New Hampshire, Singer earned her bachelor’s degree at Keene State College and Masters of Business Administration at Franklin Pierce University.
