Lyndeborough will be studying the possibility of streaming Select Board public meetings and public hearings online in the year ahead.

At Wednesday’s Board of Selectmen meeting, Ray Humphreys, Scott Roper, Mike Kalin, Bill Crouse, Tom Chrisenton, Charlie Post and Kathleen Humphreys were appointed to the Public Meeting Video Study Committee. A petition warrant from Town Meeting moved the concept forward, and the committee is expected to report its finding at the next Town Meeting.

The town has also secured a BRIC grant for $7,593.75 to update the local hazard mitigation plan. BRIC is the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities program, which supports states, local and territorial governments. Lyndeborough will be responsible for matching 25% of the sum, for a total amount of $10,125 toward flood and pre-disaster mitigation.

The selectmen discussed a proposal from Town Clerk Trish Schultz that tax bills be rounded to the nearest dollar. Town Administrator Geoffrey Allen said Schultz put forth the idea in the interests of simplicity, explaining that some citizens have complained about dealing with change when paying their tax bills.

”The tax bill is what it is,” said Selectman Howard Ray.

“It’s been working fine for a long time,” said Selectman Bob Howe regarding billing. “If it ain’t broke.”
