Kiln firings and virtual pottery lessons are now available through Sharing Arts. The organization of local artists is still fundraising in advance of opening a community building in Dublin Village Park, but in the meantime, a kiln is available in Dublin for firings and can be booked for five cents per cubic inch.

Virtual clay hand building classes start Feb. 7, and continue on Sundays through March 14. Two classes apiece on slab, coil, and scoop techniques feature a one-hour demonstration by instructor Kimberly Kersey Asbury followed by individualized support, and a one-on-one glazing session is available for participants comfortable meeting at Kersey Asbury’s studio. Registration costs $75 for members and $85 for nonmembers and includes all material costs.
