A New Ipswich woman was taken to the hospital with a head injury Tuesday morning following a two-car crash in Sharon.

Peterborough police responded around 9 a.m. to the crash that occurred at the intersection of Route 123 and Temple Road in Sharon, Peterborough Police Chief Scott Guinard said Tuesday afternoon.

The woman, Kasey Mangold, 28, of New Ipswich, was driving north on Route 123 in a 2005 Ford Focus, when a southbound 2006 Ford Focus, driven by a 17-year old boy from Dublin, turned into the northbound lane of Route 123 to turn onto Temple Road.

“At that point, the vehicles collided,” Guinard said.

Mangold sustained a head injury in the crash and was taken by ambulance to Catholic Medical Center in Manchester by Peterborough Ambulance for treatment.

She had been discharged from the hospital as of Wednesday afternoon, a hospital official said.

The Dublin teen was not injured.

Both vehicles received heavy damage to the left front corner, and had to be towed from the scene.
