Smoky Quartz, a journal of literature and art, is accepting submissions of prose, poetry and art for its late-2023 online issue from May 15 to Sept. 15.

Complete submission guidelines are available at smokyquartz.org/submissions. Both new and established writers and artists who have a connection to New Hampshire are invited to submit their work.  Those selected for publication will join a list of prior contributors that includes writers Erica Bodwell, Alice Fogel, Becky Dennison Sakellariou and Rodger Martin, as well as artists Michael Cherry, Eva-Lynn Loy, Kristina Wentzell and Craig Altobello.

The editorial team for this issue includes two editors continuing from prior issues – Deborah Murphy and Deni Dickler. Joining them are Brian Evans-Jones, Fred Gerhard and Ginny Masters.

Smoky Quartz, founded in 2012, is published by the Monadnock Writers’ Group. Usually an online journal, in 2022 the editors published a print edition to celebrate its 10-year anniversary. According to founding co-editor and current consulting editor Linda Thomas, “Smoky Quartz was named after New Hampshire’s state gem to emphasize the journal’s strong connection to the Granite State. We wanted to promote writers and artists influenced by the beauty of our surroundings and our creative history.”
